Happy Sunday, MTB readers! 🙂
Perhaps you’re just getting up or you already have your Sunday in full swing!
I’m feeling a bit hungover from partying last night (which is something I do once in a blue moon). I’m a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, so it doesn’t take much to hit me hard. *blushes*
I accompanied my sister to her friend’s bday party at club in a neighbouring city. I appreciated the fact that it was a well dressed, more mature crowd. I didn’t feel old at all. 🙂 It was great that they played songs from back in the day when I partied, so I actually knew the words to them. All in all, it was a great time.
Even as I was partying , the wheels in the p-effer in me (personal financer? or personal financier???) were turning.
I’ve forgotten that partying is expensive. Or it can be.
We were lucky enough to not have to pay for parking since it was in the suburbs. In the big city, sometime they can charge you a flat rate of $20-$30(!) just to park in the lot. My sister covered me for the $10 entry fee and $2 coat check. Drinks were about $7 each plus tip. So as you can see, one can easily spend over $20 in a night!
Ok fine, so it wasn’t that expensive for me because I have a low tolerance for alcohol 🙂 However, say if you were more of a drinker and you were buying drinks for other people, then that tab can get pretty huge. If you’re having a good time and you’re slightly buzzed, you’re less likely to be keeping track of your expenses. You’re more likely to use that ATM with that stupid $2.50-$3.00 fee to withdraw more cash to keep the drinks rolling.
Crazy to think that I was able to do that several weekends in a row. Or every night in a weekend! Oh, the good ol’ days. 😉
And now the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the WINNER of the $100 Amazon Voucher Giveaway is…..
I’m in the lightweight camp with you. I’ve seen people drop some big bucks on nights out and I’m just in awe. Or even people who go out to eat all the time (I get food hangovers too). 🙂 Glad you had a fun night though!
I’m actually pretty happy I’m rather introverted and antisocial. I go out and “party” so infrequently that the cost isn’t a huge deal, but I know there’ll be one. I’m not so great at stopping once I get going and have the fantastic habit of wanting to close the bar… too many years working on a cruise ship.
